Catherine Gao (they/them) is a third-year medical student at UCSF with a B.A. in Human Biology and a M.S. in Community Health and Prevention Research from Stanford University. Their research uses qualitative methods to better understand the experiences of youth and their caregivers during Family-Based Treatment.
Dr. Sasha Gorrell (she/her/hers) received a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and an M.A. from New York University. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University at Albany in 2018, after which she joined the UCSF team as a T32 postdoctoral scholar within the NIMH-funded Clifford Attkisson Clinical Services Research Training Program. As an Assistant Professor in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Dr.
Arjun Sridhar Mehta (he/him/his) graduated from Berkeley in 2023 with a B.A. in Integrative Biology and in 2025 with a MPH in Food, Nutrition, & Population Health. Since 2024, Arjun has worked at the UCSF’s Division of Adolescent Medicine as a LEAH Nutrition Trainee alongside Drs. Andrea Garber and Amanda Downey on trials studying refeeding (iStRONG) and body composition (3-DO) in hospitalized adolescents with anorexia nervosa.
Kianna Zucker (she/her/hers) graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 2023 with a B.A. in Cognitive Neuroscience. As an undergraduate, Kianna served as a research assistant with the Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She researched the effectiveness of a mobile intervention in improving clinical outcomes for patients with anorexia.
